Crossbars

The crossbars are designed to keep the gauge fixed and distribute the stress transmitted by the rails directly to the ground.

In modern types of armaments, which do not allow sliding, the crossbars also have the task of blocking thermal expansion of the rails and sliding for braking or starting.

So that for the bogies train to adapt to the curve to be covered, the fifth wheel must be able to translate sideways and this is obtained by placing it on a support suspended by means of four tie rods to the bogies train frame itself; this support is called oscillating cross stringer.

In the three-axle bogies trains with a pace of m. 3.70 there are two oscillating crossbars, symmetrical respect to the intermediate axis, and connected by a longitudinal beam which carries to the support of the fifth wheel.

According to the design, the carriages are made of two side members, shaped like a gull wing and made of bent and welded steel sheets, joined by welding, by two crossbars.

The CIM proposes itself to the international railway infrastructure market as a supplier of complete systems for the production of railway crossbars.

An experience recognized by our customers who entrust us with the production of the same, preferring in fact our working method, our production process and certifying, in fact, the quality of our products.
